Patrick Reed Thomson, born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 23, 1938 died peacefully after a long illness in San Antonio on January 12, 2016.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Kristan Ovitz Thomson, and his parents, Connie Redus and Kenneth G. Thomson. He is survived by his daughter, Paige Bender (son-in-law Reed Bender) of Round Rock, Texas; son, Wade Martin of San Antonio; and 3 grandchildren: Evan Bender of Round Rock; Mina Martin & Justin Martin of Hannover, Germany.
Patrick was raised on a family ranch in Eagle Pass and graduated from Eagle Pass High School. He studied home building at Trinity University before entering the Air Force as commissioned officer in 1962. He was a navigator and pilot who served his country for 20 years. His service included tours in Vietnam, Randolph AFB, King Salmon, Alaska and Laughlin Air Force Base. He retired from the USAF in 1982 to San Antonio and started a second career building and remodeling homes in the area.
His family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Oakwell Farms, Claudia Orona and Virginia Rios for their compassionate care during the last years of his life.
In keeping with his wishes, a private graveside service will be held with inurnment at Mission Park North.
