Jo Ann (Henry) Brushart, 79 of Piketon, Ohio, died at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Adena-Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. She was born February 20th, 1936 in Franklin Township, Adams County, Ohio to the late Paul G. Henry and E. Geneva (Bowles) Henry. On August 11, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jim Brushart who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kimberly Jo (Brushart), Byrd, her husband Brent, and twin grand-daughters, Maddy and Kally Byrd, who she adored. She is also survived by one brother, of Jasper Road, Piketon and brother-in-law and wife of Germany Road, Waverly, Ohio. She is also survived by two nieces and families; and four nephews and families.

In addition to being pre-deceased by her parents, she was also pre-deceased by a special nephew, Michael Paul Henry. She graduated from Piketon High School in 1954. She was employed at City Loan in Waverly, at the First National Bank in Piketon. She also served as a deputy in the Pike County Clerk of Courts Office in the Child Support Department, and later as an Account Clerk with Pike County Department of Human Services and the Child Support Enforcement Agency. She was also employed as a teller in a loan company at Fort Campbell, Kentucky while her husband Jim was stationed in the US Army there from 1961- 1963. On October 9, 1961, she obeyed the Lord's command and was buried with Him in baptism. From that point until her passing, she was a devoted Christian and influential in leading others to Christ by her wonderful example. She devoted her life to the Lord and to her family. She was good to everyone and was loved and respected by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio, the staff at Traditions Bristol Village Waverly ,Ohio, and the staff at Adena -Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. Special Thanks to Dr. Stiltner and Dr. Roddy.

Her funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home, 314 East North Street, Waverly, Ohio with Minister Jack Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery in Piketon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 25, and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers and/ or memorial gifts, you may contribute to Jo Ann's favorite charity, The Canal Church of Christ, 122 E. North Street Waverly, Ohio.
