GRANTHAM – Flora M. Cox, 80, died yesterday morning at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 2, 1914 in Trion, Ga., the daughter of Theo and Ova (Cannon) Hammett.
Mrs. Cox lived in Grantham since November 1993. Prior to that she lived in Chattanooga, Tenn., and, from 1953 on, in Southern California.
Survivors include her husband, Glen R. Cox, of Grantham; her son, David E. Davidson, of Grantham; her daughter, Carolyn Stanphill, of Simi Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Carl Hammett of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Leroy Hammett of Chatsworth, Ga.; a sister, Edna New of Chattanooga, Tenn., nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. Burial will follow in the Grantham Memorial Cemetery in Grantham.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Department of Neurology at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Dr., Lebanon, N.H. 03750.
