"Carrie Eaves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Eaves, and Tewalt Hamm, both of Penn Yan, were married Wednesday evening by Rev. H. I. Andrews of the Methodist Episcopal church." (The Telegram, 2 May 1915)

"Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie F. Hamm, 57, Ovid, will be held at the Weldon Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m Saturday. The Rev. Sheldon Stephenson pastor of the Methodist Church,
will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Mrs. Hamm died today in Seneca Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday.

Born in Steuben County, the daughter of William and Cora Townsend Eaves, Mrs. Hamm spent most of her life in Penn Yan, moving to Ovid several years ago. Surviving are three sons, William and Kenneth Hamm, Penn Yan, and Earl Hamm, Geneva; a daughter, Mrs. Cora Best, of Potter; five brothers, Earl and Lawrence Eaves of Penn Yan, Arthur and DeWitt Eaves, Penn Yan RD, and George Eaves, of Himrod; eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ida Nichols, Rochester and Cora Richardson, Penn Yan."
