Doris Marie Brodersen (Butcher), 83, a resident of Shelton, died Feb. 16, 2013, at home.

She was born June 6, 1929, to Arlow and Violet Butcher (Blankenship) in Woodbine, Iowa.

She married Raymond Brodersen on Nov. 2, 1947, in Midway, Iowa.

She owned her own house cleaning business in the Seattle area for 20-plus years. Her hobbies included camping, traveling, dancing and cross-stitching. She was a member of the Shelton Eagles, served as past president of White Center VFW and was past president of the Burien Eagles Pool League.

She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Brodersen of Shelton; daughter LaDonna Brown (David) of Ocean Shores; sons Alvin Brodersen (Shirley) of Gold Bar and Thomas Brodersen (Connie) of SeaTac; brother Jack Butcher of Bothell; sisters Helen Cureton of Yelm and Elsie Larsen; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents Arlow and Violet Butcher; sister May Lanegan; and brothers Arlow Earl, John and Ronald Butcher.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 2 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 206 E. Wyandotte Ave., Shelton. A potluck will follow. The service will be officiated by pastor Kris Kunkel.

Arrangements are by Forest Funeral Home of Shelton under the direction of Dave Lucas.
