Martha Canady Meisner, age 86, of Russellville, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A daughter of the late John and Caroline Stanley Canady, she was born February 22, 1916, in Swansboro, North Carolina.

She was a bookkeeper, and was retired from Cities Service Oil Company. She was a member of the Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald G. Meisner Sr.; a son, Donald G. Meisner Jr., of Russellville; a daughter, Betty Meisner Ratley of Washington, DC; a brother, Willie Canady of Pawley's Island, South Carolina; four sisters: Olivia Hancock and Helen Wade, both of Greensboro, North Carolina; Clara Boudreau of Morehead City, North Carolina; and Thelma Rowe of Swansboro, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Gavin Francis of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Ryan Francis of Jacksonville, Florida; Kendel Ratley of New York City, New York; Courtney Smith and Ashley Meisner, both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Trey Meisner of Russellville; and a great-grandson, Griffin Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Graveside service and burial were 11 A.M., Monday, September 16, 2002, at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, with Father Walter Friese officiating. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
