Interim Medal of Honor Recipient. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and served as a Landsman, U.S. Navy. While on board the U.S.S. Ranger off Ensenada, Mexico, on January 18, 1886, he jumped overboard from that vessel and rescued two fellow seaman from drowning.
