My Uncle Howard ~
Howard Gaude passed away January 14, 2016 in Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill Texas.
Howard was born in Newton, Texas on February 21, 1926 and had lived in Hemphill for a few years.
He was a retiree from the Sun Oil, having lived for many years in Patterson, Louisiana and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
He was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the Fairdale Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching westerns.
Howard was also a veteran of World War II, having signed up for the Marine Corps the day after he graduated high school. He went on to serve in the Pacific Theater, earning three Purple Hearts.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Hall Gaudet who he married in December of 1945 and they were married for 59 years. His first wife, my Aunt Jenny is buried in the Newton Cemetery. His children and grandchildren wanted him buried by their Mother and grandmother. Uncle Howard as also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Leah Marie Jeffrey (47996353).
Howard is survived by his wife, Willie Reeves Peel of Hemphill, one son, Johnnie Gaudet of Beaumont, Texas and one daughter, Missy Gaudet Jeffery of Groves, Texas, grandchildren, Alicia Jeffrey Luster, John David Jeffrey and Covey Howard Jeffrey.
Visitation will be from 4pm~7pm in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill Texas on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Monday, January 18, 2016 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Mount Sinai Cemetery in the Fairmount Community of Sabine County.
