Bud was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Camargo Township to Jacob and Mary (Schutz) Cler and married Dorothy J. Clark on June 7, 1952. She survives.
He has three surviving children, Cindy Wisegarver, Steve (Peggy) Cler and Lisa (Ken) Cutler; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Madeleine Schweighart.
Bud Cler worked for the University of Illinois Division of Operations and Maintenance as a construction laborer for 27 years, retiring in 1993. He was an avid camping enthusiast, square dancer and Illini sports fan. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, spreading his good humor and love to all. He always shared a smile and never knew a stranger.
