Angelo Affinito, Jr., 85, of Branford, passed away Jan. 11, 2016 at CT Hospice; born in New Haven March 9, 1930, son of the late Angelo Sr. & Mary Abenante Affinito. Angelo served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a well known automobile mechanic in the New Haven & Branford area at several major dealerships, eventually owning his own service center on Branford Hill. He was the father of Laurette Affinito of Boca Raton, FL, Angelo Affinito,III of Middletown & Gail (Allen) Cable of New Haven, beloved grandfather of Christine, Joeline, Angela, Michelle & Michael, great-grandfather of his heart’s delight, Gabriella & Aubrey Dion; brother of Louis (Anna) Affinito of Orange & Phyllis (John) Moore of Orlando, FL. He loved his family and spending time with them. His hobbies were building model ships and airplanes, crabbing and fishing. Funeral from MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel St. Friday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery.
