Joyce grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School. She married the love of her life, Dick Springer on July 1, 1950. They moved to Missoula in 1957 after Dick transferred to the local paper mill as a foreman. They had four children, Rick, Larry, Bev and Karen. Loving and serving her family was a passion of Joyce’s. Hosting holiday gatherings, family reunion banter with her sisters, and birthday parties for grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all times when she lived life to the fullest and delighted everyone around her.
Joyce and Dick were avid golfers and made many close and lifelong friends as members of the Missoula Country Club. Joyce continued her love of golfing after Dick passed away in 1995. She enjoyed playing bridge, attending St. Francis Xavier Church, and could often be found playing keno at a couple of her local favorite locations.
Joyce will be remembered for her funny sense of humor and practical jokes, as well as her beautiful blue eyes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick; grandson, Aaron; sisters, Jeanne, Skip and Gerry; and stepbrother, Jim.
Joyce is survived by her children, Rick (Mary), Larry (Lisa), Bev (Scott) and Karen; grandchildren, Mark (Angie) Anna (Travis), Ben (Karissa), Jon (Shally), Larisa (Micah), Kallie, Tim and Sarah; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie and Donna; stepbrother, Mike; and stepsisters, Jan and Anita.
Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 420 W. Pine St., in Missoula. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle in honor of the wonderful care provided to her. The web address is providence.orghosdonate.===========Joyce Springer (157014338)
