OCT 27, 1898 -- Died, at her home about four miles southwest of Newtonia, early Monday morning, October 24, 1898, the wife of Mr. Geo. Ruggles, Sr. She was one of the old settlers of this county, a noble Christian woman, a kind mother and loving wife. She had been in poor health for some time. She leaves three sons and two daughters, all married, also a husband. Her sons are W. A Ruggles, of Oklahoma territory, G. W. of Verona and J. W. of Monett. Her daughters are Mrs. Charles Clark of Granby and Mrs. Tip Brown who is in the far northwest. Funeral services were held from the residence, conducted by Rev. Vivian assisted by Elder Largen.
