He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed at International Harvester, East Moline. He later turned to farming, which he enjoyed, along with carpentry work.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Evelyn, Joy, and Carol; grandson, Marvin; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor Liedtke, Alfred Liedtke; daughter, Lucille; and grandson, Jack Williams.
