OBITUARY
A worthy woman has left us for a little while. She was a home builder and a friend and helper of many.
Mrs. Sam Billups died on Apr. 16, 1932 at her home east of Keytesville. Mattie Estill Wiseman Billups, daughter of Isaac M. and Martha Jane (Hokersmith) Wiseman, was born Apr. 25, 1881. On May 24, 1905 she was married to Mr. Sam Billups. Of this union one son, Curtis, was born.
Besides her beloved husband and her son, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Riggins of Muscatine, Iowa, and Mrs. Anna Moore of Keytesville; one brother, W.M. Wiseman of Brunswick; and many friends to mourn her passing.
With the exception of two or three years spent in Arkansas, Mrs. Billups has lived her entire life in and around Keytesville. She united with the Presbyterian church in 1918 and has taken part in the work of the church.
Her last illness was a short duration and her death a shock to everyone. But for years Mrs. Billups has not been a well woman, and through all her pain and suffering, friends testify to a patient, a sacrificial and loving spirit. She was a good woman, a good mother, a true friend and a Christian.
