SAMUEL LEWIS BILLUPS
Samuel Lewis Billups, son of Pink and Annie (Thomas) Billups, was born Dec. 11, 1878 in Chariton County, near Newhall, and departed from this life Aug. 30, 1957 at the home of Mrs. Nellie Billups in Brunswick.
Mr. Billups lived all his life in Chariton County. He came to the Keytesville community in 1904 when he met and married Mattie Wiseman. To this union two children were born, a son, Curtis, and a daughter, Estella, all preceding him in death.
In 1935 he was married to Mrs. Rosa Lee Foglesong, who also preceded him in death.
He was a kind and loving father, grandfather, and neighbor.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, five step-children, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Tom P. Billups of Skiatook, Oklahoma; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Morgan, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, Mrs. Harrison Myers, all of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Mrs. Florence Long of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Bessie Edemann of the state of California; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services were Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Baptist Church in Keytesville, Missouri with burial in the Keytesville Cemetery.
