William Swallow Has Had Exhibits at Forty-nine State Fairs
William Z. Swallow, 74 years old, died at his home eight miles west of Valley Junction yesterday. He was one of the pioneer residents of Dallas county. His death was attributed to the infirmities of old age.
He was one of the first exhibitors at the Iowa state fair. For the last forty-nine years he exhibited Poland China hogs at the fair, winning numerous prizes. Mr. Swallow is survived by three sons.
The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the family residence. Interment will be at Booneville cemetery.
