Mrs. John W. (Ethel) Battle
Mrs. John W. (Ethel) Battle, 77, a charter member of Woodway First Baptist church, died Monday at her residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Michael Toby officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park.
Mrs. Battle was born Sept. 20, 1912. She was reared and attended school in the Oenaville area.
She was married to John W. Battle on April 14, 1934. She lived in the Waco and Woodway areas for more than 50 years. She worked for many years in the nursery at First Baptist Church of Woodway.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley Dawson and Bobbie Nolen, both of Waco; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Woodway building fund-nursery.
