Joan M. Barrett was a devoted wife, mother, caregiver and friend. Joan was born on February 6, 1924, to the late Congressman Louis and Stella Rabaut. Raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
Joan passed away on November 23, 2015, at the age of 91.
Beloved wife of the late John J. "Jack." Dear mother of Patrick (Mary Anne), John (Theresa), Louis (Kathryn), Mary, Joan, Peter (Jeanne), Kathleen, Paul, and the late Celeste Southard (Brent). Grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother of 17. Sister of Carolyn DePorre, Martha Rabaut, IHM, and sister-in-law of Virginia Rabaut and Winifred Brzozowski.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (Between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500.
The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 32340 Pierce, Beverly Hills. Visitation at church begins at 9:30 a.m.
