W. B. Hartgraves, 59, Had Been Merchant There For 37 Years
Funeral services for W. B. Hartgraves, 59, pioneer Nolan County merchant, were held from the Maryneal church at Maryneal at 3 p.m. Christmas Day, with the Rev. Luther Kirk, former pastor of the church but now from Rochester, officiating.
Mr. Hartgraves died at 1 o'clock Christmas morning after a serious illness of several days. He had been a resident of Maryneal, operating a general store there since 1900. Born in Missouri, he came to Texas with his family when 12 years old, settling in Coryell County. He moved to Oklahoma where he lived a short time before coming to Nolan County.
Survivors include his widow; eight boys and three girls. They are Ennis, Louie, Otho, Ray, Bascom, Elwood, Roy and Harold; Mrs. Jewell Arrick of Maryneal, Mrs. Vida Rogers of San Angelo, and Mrs. Clifford Crowell of Plainview.
Burial was in Maryneal Cemetery under direction of Johnston's Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
