Mary Jo was welcomed into the arms of our Lord & Savior on December 29, 2015.
Mother lived 92 years full of blessings & beautiful memories. Her husband Gene of 56 years had only waited 5 ½ months for their precious heavenly reunion with him and all her other loved ones & friends. What a wonderful marvelous reunion that must have been.
She was born, one of six children, in a farm house, in Washington, Oklahoma, to Joe and Jennie Rains. Mary and her siblings grew up picking cotton & cooking for farm hands.
Mother was a gentle woman & our Lord had blessed her with incredible strength & toughness. She was also gifted with the ability to grow an abundant garden & orchard. Her animals were prized possessions. She could take a featherless baby bird or a homeless puppy, nurture & raise it, as part of our family.
She was a long time member of Southwest Baptist Church. Saved in her mid-life & belongs to a Sunday school class called, “The Real People.”
She was a faithful member until her little tough body wore out, but still remained a prayer warrior.
Her absence will leave a void in our hearts until we meet her again at our passing. Many precious memories can only partially be filled for the remainder of our time, on this earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 1 sister, Dorothy Holland; 3 brothers, “(Fat)” Allen Rains, “Slim” Clarence Rains and Billy Rains.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Morgan and husband, Glen; grandchildren, Donna Wilson and Richard Morgan; her brother, Jack Rains; she is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other loving friends.
On behalf of our family we sincerely appreciate ALL of the prayer cards, telephone calls, visits, love and prayers. The family would like to express special acknowledgement to a precious Christian doctor who took care of mother all these years, Dr. David Vo and the staff of Good Shepard Hospice.
