EARLINE E. BURNETT Duncan, SC - Mrs. Earline Effler Burnett, victorious after a 37-year battle with cancer and surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on the afternoon of August 9, 2015. Born June 14, 1937 in Valley Falls, SC; she was the daughter of the late David Holt Effler, Sr. and Bertie Abernathy Effler of Lyman, SC. She has been the devoted wife of her high school sweetheart, Thomas Perry Burnett of the home, for 60 years. Mrs. Burnett was a devout Christian since accepting Jesus at an early age. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore, SC since 1955, except for a two year period when she was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. In her service to the Lord she served on the Lord's Supper Committee, as a Nursery Worker, and as a Discipleship Training teacher in the Children's Department. She was a 1955 graduate of Spartanburg District Five High School, a loving mother, homemaker, seamstress and retired co-owner of Burnett Office Equipment, Inc. of Spartanburg, SC. Besides her husband, Mrs. Burnett is survived by two children, Thomas Randall Burnett (Juanita) of Conway, SC and Karen Burnett Bridwell (Barry) of Reidville, SC; 8 grandchildren, Chase Burnett Nash (Charlie),Keiko Bridwell, Zane Bridwell, and Kalika Bridwell, Carman Freemam Hendrix (Joey), Cameron Freeman, Chris Mathis, Christy Mathis Braasch (Russ),12 great-grandchildren; two brother, William Ryan Effler (Sherry) and David Holt Effler (Judy) and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Burnett Harmon. She is predeceased in death by a brother, James Virgil Effler and a sister, Doris Effler Suddeth. Receiving of family and friends will begin on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm at that location. Rev. Gerald Burnett, Dr.Rob White and Rev. Christopher Hale will be officiating. Members of the Martha Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. Pallbearers will be Jeff Douglas, Barry Burnett, Joey Burnett, Allan Harmon, Russ Braach and Cameron Freeman.
