Mrs. Sarah Jane Clark Mayfield, 92, of Mayfield, died Friday, April 16, at 4 p.m. She was the widow of W. G. Mayfield who died in 1935.

Mrs. Mayfield was born August 22, 1861 in Arkansas, the daughter of Richard Clark and Jane Grigg Clark.

She is survived by three sons, J. R. Mayfield, of Visalia, Calif., J. H. Mayfield of Bakersfield, Calif., and Conner Mayfield of Springdale; two daughters, Mrs. Orin Bisom of route 1, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Albert Puryear of Mayfield; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Clark of Washington state and one sister, Mrs. Dusky Patrick of Patrick.

Funeral services were held at the Goshen Methodist church Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Will Sherman. Burial was in the Mayfield family cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dick Kenney, Burl Morris, Ray Smith, Loy Harris, Albert Berry and Carman Trammell.
