Eliza, according to her daughter, Hannah Eversole, was the daughter of William Oakley and a full blooded Cherokee named ANSTES. So far I have found no evidence of this fact. Others in the family claim that Anstes married an Native named William Oakley and he spoke little English. In a few days I am having a DNA test to determine if I have Native American DNA and if so, I will devote more time into this mystery.
Eliza Oakley Jones has no grave stone but older family members told me that she is in this cemetery.
