Born May 27, 1913, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late James Washington Travis and Carrie Anna Whitener Travis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond "Pete" Hollar; a son, Charles Fredrick Hollar; brothers, Clarence Travis, Ted Travis and James Travis; and sisters, Irene T. Adams, Nettie T. Conklin and Colleen T. Brooks.
Survivors include a daughter Jayne Hollar Brown and husband, Wayne, of Atlantic Beach; a brother, Henry Travis; sisters, Blanche T. Winstead, Janelle "Susie" T. Drum and Doris T. Sigmon; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Faith United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
