Abel Boden, aged 86, and Mary Ann Boden, aged 79, both died on 19th September 1921. Their daughter Lily Dallison died on 23rd February 1936.

Also remembered are daughters Elizabeth and Janet.

Derby Daily Telegraph, Wednesday 20th August 1924:
Abel was born at The Pig of Lead, a rather noted ‘pub’ at the entrance to the Via Gellia at Cromford. His father was landlord for many years and when he died he left the place to his son Abel, who being a staunch TT transferred it to his sister. His father also left him a stone quarry and several lead mines. Boden made lots of money out of the quarry but never claimed the mines. The artful dodger had an idea they were of no commercial value and knew full well if he avowed ownership would have been called upon to go to the expense of fencing them in accordance with an order passed to safeguard pedestrians.
At one time Boden was very well off, but he died a poor man. In consequence of age and illness, he and his wife had to be nursed by their respective families. Thus he died in Derby on September 19th 1921 aged 86, and she died in Bristol on the same day, aged 79. He had had his headstone prepared and paid for years before he died.

At the foot of the grave is a second stone on which is written 'The Railway Driver's Epitaph'
