Shirley A. Maybee, 67, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005, at a local nursing center. Private services were held Friday at Drummond Cemetery. Burial was directed by Abilene Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maybee was born January 20, 1938, in Canton, Illinois, where she was reared. She moved to View, Texas in 1997 and to Abilene in 2003. She married Edward Eugene Maybee in 1960 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons, Edward E. Maybee, Jr. of Davie, Florida, Frederick N. Maybee of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Ted R. Maybee of Corydon, Iowa and Ned L. Maybee of View; two daughters, Cynthia A. Allard of Cuba, Illinois and Anne M. Maybee of Abilene; a brother, Richard Hitchcock, Jr. of Missouri; three sisters, Wanda Ford of Cuba, Illinois, Kay Hicks of Indiana and Lynda Reagan of West Virginia; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Maybee was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Dale Hitchcock and three sisters, Cynda Ramirez, Judy Burgess and Helen Bedwell.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2433 Ridgepoint Drive — A, Austin, Texas 78754.
