Olga Cisneros, 54, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at University Church of Christ, 733 E.N. 16th Street, with Gustavo Villanueva officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Northwest Church of Christ, 1141 North Willis Street.

Mrs. Cisneros was born April 26, 1961, in Abilene, Texas to Martin and Raquel Rodriguez Cisneros.

Olga lived in Dallas for a while moving to San Antonio and working as a librarian for about 15 years.

She then moved to Abilene working as a corrections officer for a few years and going back to being a librarian for the Abilene Independent School District.

She devoted a lot of her time on trying to encourage young people to read and not lose focus on how great they could become in this difficult world we live in.

Olga loved music, dancing, playing bingo, and reading.

Her family will remember her as an unselfish and very giving free spirit that accomplished just about everything she set her mind to.

Left to cherish her memories include four sons, Jeremiah Cisneros (Crystal), Justin Rey Ruiz, Nazario Ruiz Jr., and John-Marcus Ruiz, all of San Antonio; eleven brothers, Martin Cisneros Jr. (Linda) of San Antonio, Samuel Cisneros of San Antonio, Ruben Cisneros of Abilene, Benjamin Cisneros (Debbie) of Ft. Walton, Florida, Daniel Cisneros (Irma) of San Angelo, Adam Cisneros (Juanita) of Abilene, Ricardo Cisneros (Teresa) of Abilene, Neftali Cisneros of Beeville, Rene Cisneros of Abilene, Michael Cisneros (Teresa) of Dallas, and Joe Cisneros (Tamara) of Dallas; three sisters, Cecilia Cisneros of Abilene, Melinda Cisneros of Abilene, and Jesica Cisneros - Williamson (Beau) of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Hailey, Jenessa, Sarah, Jeremiah, Joshua, Justine, Abigail, Aaron, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Cisneros was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Robert "Bino" Eugene Cisneros; and two nephews, Michael Girtz Jr. and Alejandro Cisneros.

Honored to be pallbearers will be her brothers and honorary pallbearer will be Gilbert Cisneros.
