Margaret Estelle Freeman Anderson, 85, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
Margaret was born November 11, 1930 in Bat Cave, NC, to the late Boyce and Estelle Freeman. She graduated from Memorial Mission Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. Later that year she met and married Ralph Anderson of Taylor, WI, while he was stationed at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, DC. The family lived in Wyoming, Florida, North Carolina and Illinois before moving to Asheville in 1986.
Margaret worked for 53 years as a registered nurse in Veteran's Administration hospitals in Illinois and NC before retiring in 2012 at the age of 80.
Margaret was an active member of the Alumni Committee of the Mission Belles, the alumni association of the Mission Hospital School of Nursing. She attended the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Greenville, SC.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home Chapel on Tunnel Road. Burial will follow at the Conner Family Cemetery . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
