Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Billy R. Creel, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Chuck McInturf. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Billy was born on February 23, 1937 in Mulga, AL to Belton Velva Creel and Ora Mae Creel. Mr. Creel was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church. Mr. Creel's children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1962 where he served as Airman 2nd Class Mechanic on KC-97 planes and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. While in the military at Barksdale he met and married the love of his life Janiene Carr. After his military service Billy worked in various capacities as Assistant Body Shop Manager for Hanna Ford, Body Shop Manager for Harter Lincoln-Mercury, Insurance Estimator for Traveler's Insurance and State Farm Insurance. Mr. Creel was an avid University of Alabama fan, loved traveling and attending family gatherings where he would barbeque and cook for his family. Billy served as the Booster Club President at Woodlawn High School from 1982-1985. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends at his Christus Health Club.

Mr. Creel was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Belton Velva Creel, Jr. and Eddie Joe Creel; one sister, Ora Jean Sorenson and his father and mother in law, James D. Carr and Rachael B. Carr.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Billy is his beloved wife of 55 years, Janiene Carr Creel; sons, Kevin Creel and wife Shannon, Keith Creel and wife Robin and Kris Creel and wife Amy; grandchildren, Kendall, Michael, Wesley, Stacy, Amanda, Kristyn and Jake; great granddaughter, Bailey; sister, Ellen Sullivan; brother, William Jerry Creel and sister in law's, Betty Creel Clark and Karen Hogan and special brother in law, Randy Hogan. Mr. Creel is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Roan Flenniken and Dr. Paul "Corky" Davis for all their medical care and support given to Billy. The family also wishes to thank Chuck and Maggie Stephenson for all their care and support.
