Audrey Lydia McRoberts left this world to be in heaven April 17, 2012 in Fortuna, California. Audrey was born October 26, 1927 in Scotia, California, and was raised in Rohnerville by her parents Leo and Anna Nickols, sister Marge (Harold) Wallan, and cousin Gladys Taylor. She spent her childhood in the Nickols & Nickols grocery store in Rohnerville.

She was married May 29, 1947 to Donald W. McRoberts and enjoyed her life as a homemaker raising her children; Margaret (Doyle) Phillips, Larry McRoberts and Juanita "Peta" (Ron) Elder. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Jessie and Jenny Phillips, Shiloh and Cheyenne Elder, and her great granddaughter Rayne, as well as her nieces Cindy Hood, Annette Hood and her great niece and nephew Holly Welhoff and Shaun Taylor as well as her sister-in-law Luella in Michigan.

Audrey was most known for her extreme faith in God and her selfless devotion to her friends and family. She was the rock in the family and the light in all of our lives. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her garden. Her favorite activity of the past 30+ years was her morning walks on Mill Street. She always seemed to have the answers to everyone's problems and her smile was so contagious. She had such a young spirit and will remain a true guidance for many of us in the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald W. McRoberts, parents Leo and Anna Nickols, Jeanne Richmond and many relatives here and in Michigan.

Audrey's family wishes to express their deepest sympathy and condolences to all of those involved and affected by this tragic accident. They are all in our thoughts and prayers and hope that they can heal after this unfortunate event.

Private graveside services will be held Saturday, April 21 at IOOF cemetery. There will be a gathering for friends and family at the Nazarene Church on Ross Hill Rd in Fortuna, at 11:00 AM. Reverend Richard Gatlin will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to just as Audrey often would. Arrangements are under the direction of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Fortuna, California.
