He practiced medicine first in Barron and then Montevideo, MN., coming to Chetek in 1926. He retired following an accident.
Robert was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, served as health officer, and was on the school board for 30 years. He helped establish the Barron Clinic and nursing home.
Last March he was one of 33 physicians honored at an awards dinner sponsored by the WI. Medical society in Milwaukee and one of 29 who were inducted into the society's 50 year club.
August 24 1929 he married Thelma, who survives him. Also surviving are two daughters, Louise and Elizabeth, a sister, Ruth, and six grandchildren.
