SLOAN, Gloria Amelia, 68, of Roanoke, died Thursday, April 19, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James T. Sloan of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Schairl and Joe Hofmann of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Sherry Sloan of Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Quick of North Carolina; a son, Lonnie Sloan of Roanoke; five brothers and one sister; a special granddaughter, Suzanne Shepherd; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel with Rev. Carter Sloan officiating. Interment to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral arrangements are by Lotz Roanoke Chapel. www.lotzfuneralhome.com
