GIBSON--Hal F., late of Eagle Creek, Or., husband of Marie; brother of Harvey Gibson of Portland, Mrs. Cora Udell of Gladstone. Services Saturday, July 6, at 2 p. m. from Chapman Funeral Home, Estacada. Committment Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Halley F. Gibson, of Barton, a pioneer of the Eagle Creek section, passed away at the Portland Sanitarium on July 3rd at the age of 80.

Hal Gibson was born in Kansas on May 7th, 1866, crossing the plains by covered wagon at the age of one year with his parents, James R. and Emily Gibson. They settled on a homestead near Eagle Creek where Mr. Gibson has been a resident most of his life.

Mr. Gibson taught school in the early days, and attended the state normal school at Monmouth where he taught mathmatics in '88 and '89. In the early '90s he was engaged in the general merchandise business at Eagle Creek and acted as postmaster there from 1909 to 1917. On November 4, 1894, he was united in marriage to MARIE ANDERSON who survives him.

Mr. Gibson was a member of the Estacada Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges, the Eagle Creek Grange and the Sandy Pioneer Society of which he was honored as king at the '45 summer session last July.

Besides his wife he is survived by a twin brother, Harvey Gibson, of Portland, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Udell of Gladstone.

Services were held in the Chapman Funeral home at Estacada on Saturday, July 6th, with Rev. Harold S. Shellhart, of Gresham officiating, and the Estacada Odd Fellows assisting. Samuel Eddy of Portland sang. Commitment was the Lincoln Park Memorial mausoleum.
