Ida Sarah Sampson was the daughter of Charles W. and Araminta Hartwell Sampson. In the 1860 census records for Greenbush, Wis., she was called Sarah. Her parents died suddenly around that time and unfortunately we have not been able to find death and burial information on them as it was sudden and the minor children were taken in by family members. There are no newspaper articles, probates or guardian ship records either. I don't know if they died in Greenbush or Gays Mills. Just odd that there is not a speck of information. We do know that Charles and Araminta died between 1862 and 1865 as that was the term Nelson A. G. Tallman was in the military and while in the military his wife (Mary Ann Hartwell-Aramintas sister) wrote him about the children needing a home and he told her to take the two youngest but she took the three youngest.

Ida was taken in by her aunt, Mary Ann Hartwell Tallman and her husband Nelson Admiral Tallman who also raised her brother Oliver P. Sampson and they adopted her youngest sister Clara Sampson.

Ida had five known siblings: Charles T. - Charles Sampson, Theodore Walden Sampson - Theo Sampson, Theodocia Armenta - Theodocia Alden Sampson, Oliver Pierce - Oliver Pierce Sampson and Clara - Clara Sampson Tallman.

On July 4th, 1872, in Crawford County, Wisconsin, Ida married Ruben Randall. I have been unable to find parentage or death and burial information on him. (His parents may be Reuben and Fannie Randall.) Together they had six known children: Nelson Sampson, Charles Earl, Pearl, Ida Leora (also lived with the Nelson Tallmans-for a brief period), Albert Leon and Curtis.

Ruben passed sometime before 1900 and Ida was listed as a Doctor and living with her SISTER Clara Sampson Tallman in the Clayton, Crawford Co., Wisconsin Census for 1900. In 1905 Ida was living with her son Nelson and his family in Vernon, Wisconsin and again listed as a Doctor and a Nurse. Between 1905 and 1907 she and her son Charles Earl moved to Elmira, Solano Co., California with her son Nelson and his family.

By 1910 she was living in Solano County, California and was married to Hiram Beigule Taylor. They were married around 1907.
