Frank C Brown Sr., 89, of St. Charles, MO passed away on Wed. Dec 9, 2015, at his home.
Frank (Frankie) was born Apr 18, 1926 in KC, Kansas to Ed & Francis (nee Ehrheart) Brown. He graduated from Bishop Ward HS in 1944 & from K State in 1950 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Frank was a veteran of the US Navy & served as a signalman on the USS Gilbert Islands during WWII.
Frank worked in the motor division of Emerson Electric from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. After retiring, he drove his family crazy until Helen decided he would work part-time. Once again, he found himself working on a boat, only this time it was a Gambling Boat! Frank was proud to be an original maint. Dept employee in St. Charles’s first casino.
Frank was an intelligent man who enjoyed playing with his kid’s toys at Christmas, slot machines and Wrestling at the Chase. He was very proud of his nine children & over time, served as a cubscout leader, softball coach & King of the Parking Lot at McNair Park.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his parents, two brothers & one sister. He is survived by nine children, Frank (Mary), Larry (Michelle), Leslie, Bob (Shannon), Bill (Jan), Cindy, Robyn (Les), Tim (Cathy) & Terrie (Bruce); over 20 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Mon. Dec. 14, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00 am, with a funeral mass at 10:00, at St. Peter Church on First Capitol Dr in St. Charles. Frank will be laid to Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in Frank’s name directly to SSM Hospice.
As this era in our lives closes, we thank God for the gift of Frank’s life & the blessings of the time spent with him in his later years as his hidden warmth & sense of humor were uncovered.
