Another pioneer has answered Death's summons. Mrs. Anna Simmet died Wednesday night at her home on North Washington Street quite suddenly from heart failure at the age of 70 years. Although she had been ailing since last fall her illness was not such as to cause any apprehensions.
The deceased whose maiden name was Anna Preisinger, was born in Bavaria on the 27th day of July 1842. and was only 18 years old when she came to this country with her parents, directly to Lafayette Township, where she resided until about 10 years ago when she removed to New Ulm to spend her declining years in ease and comfort. In the year 1860 she was married to John Simmet who preceded her in death six years ago.
Like all pioneers of the early days the deceased had to contend with a great many trials and tribulations, but she met them quite cheerfully. She was a kind-hearted woman and was always ready and willing to render service to and make sacrifices for her family and friends.
