Priscilla Elizabeth Nelson passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Woodlawn Care Center in Newport, NH. She is survived by her brother, Roger Nelson of Tilton, NH, and her sister, Anne Nelson of Lebanon, NH.
Priscilla was born in Newport, NH, to Lloyd and Elizabeth (Gallup) Nelson. She graduated from Newport High School. Priscilla worked at the Sport Welt Shoe Company in Newport, and at Hartford Eichenauer Company in Newport, from which she retired after twenty-one years. She never married. Priscilla and her brother shared a house on Stagecoach Lane in Sunapee, NH, living there for forty-five years.
Priscilla was a member of the Baptist Church in Newport, NH. She was in the choir at church and the Area Choir for many years. She had a lovely voice and loved to sing. Priscilla had a wonderful trip to Israel and Egypt with her church group. She was very active in the Kearsarge COA (Council on Aging) of New London, joining the kayaking, hiking and cross-country skiing groups. She also joined the Sunapee Seniors, going on trips with them. She loved her cats Buddy, Honey and Linus, could play the harmonica, and liked to laugh.
Roger Nelson would like to express his gratitude for all the tender love and care given Priscilla by the nurses and staff at The Seasons at Summercrest (Newport, NH) and Woodlawn Care Center.
A graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2016.
