Obituary, Chadwick Funeral Service (New London, NH), Thu, 5 May 2022:

Tilton, NH - Roger Nelson, 83, of the NH Veterans Home, died on April 29, 2022.

He was born and raised in Newport, NH and graduated from Newport High School. After high school he worked for Sport Welt Shoe Company for several years. He served in the US Army for three years. The last job Roger had was at Sturm Ruger in the casting department, where he worked for 31 years and then retired.

Roger was a member of the Lake Sunapee United Methodist Church in Sunapee. He worked many years in the kitchen washing dishes after the Harvest and Bean Suppers. He was well known for his love of chocolate cream pie. He volunteered at the Sunapee Thrift Shop and was a member of the Sunapee Seniors. Roger was a very kind person and always willing to help others. His true loves were his cats, Buddy, Honey and Linus and his motorcycle.

A graveside service in Chandler Cemetery, Newbury, NH will be held at a later date.
