Vernon Jay Crout, 81, of Payson, Ariz. went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2012.
He was born on Aug. 4, 1930 in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
He was retired U.S. Air Force, served in the Vietnam War and was a gunsmith by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Jean; brother, Fabian of Payson; two children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly Rd., at 11 a.m., Monday, March 19.
