DEATH OF WESLEY HOUSH
After a month's illness Mr. John Wesley Housh died at his home Saturday morning surrounded by his family. The cause of his death was paralysis and heart trouble.
John Wesley Housh was born in Black Hawk county, Iowa, March 7th, 1853, and died at Valley Falls, Kansas, June 3rd, 1916, age 63 years, 2 months and 8 days.
He was the son of George and Elizabeth Gordon Housh, and with his parents came to Valley Falls when he was but a small boy. Here he was reared, and on August 15th, 1899, was married to Miss Anna Mayhew.
To this union were born four children, two of whom died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mary and Julia, his father, six brothers, Josiah of Topeka, William of California, George and Milton of Oklahoma, Ollie and Henry of Denison, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. Cox of Centralia, Ill.
He joined the Christian church in 1897.
Wesley was a farmer and teamster and did the best he could. He was honest and upright and was a kind husband and father.
The funeral was held from the Christian church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Chas. H. Kimball conducting the services.
The burial was in the township cemetery.
The bereaved wife and children have the sympathy of all relatives and friends.
