Galen Lloyd Amos

Galen Lloyd Amos Sr. born June 11, 1925 in Cheshire, Ohio. He went to be with the Lord February 10, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alva Pearl and Marie Hulday Amos; wife, Louise B. Amos; daughters, Norma J. Amos, Mary J. (Jerry) Palmer; daughter-in-law, Saundra (Sue) Amos; granddaughter, Mary B. Amos; brothers, Bruse A. Rogers, Alva A. Amos, Luther (Jana) Amos; sisters, Delores E. Amos, Tracy Q. Delouzer, Lydia M. Chestnut, Lavada Barels and Mary (James) Meyers.

He served in United States Navy during WWII. Retired from the Ohio Department of Corrections. He was a Life Member, Past Commander and Past 12th District Commander of Southway American Leigon, Life Member of Southeast Conservation Club and Member F&AM Westgate Lodge # 623.

He is survived by three sons, Galen Lloyd Amos Jr., Earl Lewis (Patty) Amos and Wesley Pearl (Lori) Amos; sisters, Jennie J. McNeal, Lyvonia (Roy) Boggs, Orthea Rider, H. Maxine (David) Harner; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St. Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Jerry Dye officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memorial Gardens.
