She grew up on her parents' ranch on Anderson Road with her sister Janie amid wonderful neighbors and friends - the Carletons, Petriks, Paschkes, Wilsons, and Brittons. Riding bikes, swimming lessons, and 4-H were memorable parts of her early life in rural Klamath County.
Margie graduated from Lost River High School in 1974, where she was a cheerleader and best friends with Jo Anne Evans Hellberg and Stephen Flesher. She attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland.
Her first real job - not counting the hauling hay and weeding potatoes during high school - was at Lithia Motors in Medford. She worked at several dealerships over the years as office manager. In 1993 Margie finished her accounting degree at Oregon State University and became a CPA. She worked as a CPA and controller for four different firms over the years, ending her career at Molatore, Scroggin, Peterson & Co. of Klamath Falls.
Survived by her sister and husband of Malin, Oregon niece and husband of Beaverton, Oregon, and nephew and wife of Merrill, Oregon, uncles and aunts numerous cousins and special friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mildred (Schmidli) Retterath, and aunts Willie Schmidli, Betty Schmidli, Doris Schmidli, Edith Bowring, and Elaine Retterath.
