She was born on May 11, 1929 in Sabetha, the youngest of ten children of Sylvan and Bertha (Wegman) Aeschliman.
On October 14, 1951, she was married to Raymond Peterson. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2004.
She worked at Johns Creamery for many years and also Zarda Dairy until her retirement in 1988. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, all K-State sports and the Royals.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Peterson and Donise of Manhattan and Rodney Peterson and Pam of Topeka; one daughter, Brenda Peterson-Smith and Tom of Lawrence; four granddaughters, Lacy, Valerie, Stacey and Christy; two step granddaughters, Trisha and Raven; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Aeschliman, sister-in-law, Peggy Norman and Mervin and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings, Melvin, Marion, Clarence, Sylvan, Wilbur, Clyde, Suzie, Edith and Helen and all of their spouses; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Peterson and one sister-in-law, Maxine Soldan and Jean.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Crooked Creek Cemetery, north of Leonardville.
A memorial may be made to the Via Christi Village Resident’s Activity Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
