She was born February 13, 1929 in Ogden, the cherished daughter of James and Irene Simons Chamberlin.
Irene married Robert Vern Parker for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 1, 1948.
She graduated from Weber State with a Bachelor of Arts degree, enjoyed teaching fourth graders, and served as an officer for the Utah Quilt Guild for many years.
As a member of the LDS Church, she served in all organizations.
She enjoyed traveling, handiwork, and sharing her many talents by helping others develop their talents. She exhibited artistry and perfectionism in her work characteristic of her life. Her friends and peers praised her talents.
Surviving are her sweetheart, Robert; her daughter, Shelley (Walt) Eddy, Layton; son, Chris (Lori) Parker, Layton; daughter, Joy Vanderstappen, Ogden; son, Norman (Susan) Parker, Layton; and grandchidren, Amy, Mike, Kiele, Brent, Christie, Stacie, Jony, Tanya, Ty, Marisha, Derick, and Ryan. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert (Bob) Chamberlin, Reno; and James (Jim) Chamberlin, North Ogden; and three sisters, Jean Drumiler, Bountiful; Muriel Preschon, South Jordan; and Frances Miller, Ogden.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, with Bishop Stuart Adams officiating. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 1998 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
