Elaine was born to Christina (Hansen) and George Neve on June 1, 1921, in Ringsted, Iowa. She received her B.A. from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska and taught in the Ringsted and Grant Community School Districts.
On September 17, 1948, she married Dr. Arnold T. Nielsen.
Elaine dedicated her life to her family, her friends and her church. She was an accomplished pianist, a children’s choir director and a loyal choir member. Her true passion was helping others. She was kind and compassionate to everyone she met.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Lucille Kloth, Arlette Lastine and Glenn Neve.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines St., in Ankeny on Monday, November 30, 2015 with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
The family requests that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Lutheran World Relief or Oaks Indian Mission (ELCA), C.A. and Tomina Vammen College Scholarship Fund, 155 North Military Road, Oaks, Oklahoma 74359.
