Alfred Albert Brinkmeyer of Katy, Texas passed from this world into his heavenly home on May 7, 2015. Alfred was born in Washington County, Texas on February 6, 1927 to Fritz and Mary Brinkmeyer.

He was married to Irene Louise (Weiss) Brinkmeyer at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in the Sandy Hill community of Washington County, Texas on August 15, 1944 by Pastor W.C. Poehlmann.

Alfred was a dedicated family man who always looked forward to visits from his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his leisure time, he enjoyed following the Houston Astros baseball team, occasional fishing trips, and playing cards.

He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, and formerly a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston for over 40 years.

Alfred is preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents, Fritz and Mary Brinkmeyer; his in-laws, Edwin and Linda Weiss; daughter Ora Nell (Cookie) Kelm and her husband, Freddie; grandson, Jeffrey Triolo; sisters-in-law, Martha Brinkmeyer, Doris Brinkmeyer, Louise Stroech, Allyne Weiss; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Weiss and Hermann Stroech; and nieces, Barbara DeWees and Joyce McAnally.

Alfred is survived by his children, Lucille and Tom Campbell, Wayne and Linda Brinkmeyer, Glenn and Diane Brinkmeyer, Linda Sue and Myron Triolo, Betty and Kent Underwood, Gene and Kay Brinkmeyer, John and Kathy Brinkmeyer, all of Houston, Charles and Jacelle Brinkmeyer of Bucoda, Washington; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Willie Brinkmeyer and wife, Margaret, Roger Brinkmeyer, all of Brenham, Reverend Arthur Brinkmeyer and wife, Carol, of Nebraska; brothers in-law, Edwin Weiss Jr. and wife, Edna, Jimmie Weiss; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

His grandsons will honor him in serving as pallbearers, Steven and Ryan Kelm, Scott, Erin, Chad, Timothy, Mark, Jacob, Joshua, and Kyle Brinkmeyer, Thomas Triolo, Daniel Kopesky, Benjamin and Jared Swain. His granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers, Rhonda Bentke, Sharon Flisowski, Lisa Scalf, Cathy MacGregor, Rebecca Gaas, Jennifer Zimmerman, Amanda Flores, Kelli Tharp, Kerri and Kristina Underwood, and Kasey Brinkmeyer.

Viewing and visitation with the family will be held Monday, May 11, 2015, from 6-8 PM at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 10 AM at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 14423 West Road, Houston, Texas 77041. The committal service will be held at 2:00 PM at Prairie Lea Cemetery, 1004 Prairie Lea Street, Brenham, TX 77833.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Epiphany Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
