He is the son of La Rue, husband to Perthenia (Pittman) and father of Benjamin Jr. and six other children. He is one of the early settlers of Bethel, Pa. His grave was marked with a bronze plate in 1976 by his grave, by the State and Nation American bi-centennial. Benjamin's Epitaph:
"Corruption, earth and worms shall but refine this flesh till my triumphant spirit comes to put it afresh."∼Benjamin was married to Parthenia Pittman. Their known children include Samuel, Parthenia, William, Rebecca, and Benjamin.
