Mrs. Sarah Inez Edeline, 81, of Ferndale, died Thursday afternoon at her home after a short illness.

She was born on the Lone Star Ranch, Bear River, March 23, 1872, graduated at the San Jose State College, and taught school in Hydesville, Ferndale and Price Creek.

She was a member of the Ferndale lodge of Rebekahs, Native Daughters of the Golden West, Pythian Sisters, Eel River Grange and the Spartan Club of San Jose State College. She was a daughter of the pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. George Sweet.

Surviving relatives are a son, Orman Edeline of Grizzly Bluff; a daughter, Mrs. Russell Chambers of Petrolia; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Fortuna and Miss Irene Sweet of Fortuna; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Citizens Mortuary in Ferndale, with the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Ferndale Cemetery under the auspices of the Rebekah Lodge.
