Rosalie Buriege Caruso was one of eleven children born to Nicholas "Nick" Buriege and his first wife Mary Ann Canezaro.

Rosalie was united in marriage in Louisiana to Sam John Caruso.

Died 6:53 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1993, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 68, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Maringouin. Visiting was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church at 3 p.m. Friday, conducted by Father Maynard Hurst. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by husband, Sam J. Caruso Sr., Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Rickey Chustz, Baton Rouge; six sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Kathy Caruso, Beaumont, Texas, Wayne and Donna Caruso, Indianapolis, Ind., Kenneth and Mickey Caruso, Walker, Benny and Jane Caruso, Baton Rouge, Dale and Kathy Caruso, Tulsa, Okla., and Chris and Renee Caruso, Kenner; five sisters, Margaret Vaccaro, Tina Nicosia, Genevieve Cavalier and Edna Prochaska, all of Baton Rouge, and Katherine Soileau, Hammond; two brothers, Sam Buriege, Maringouin, and Louis Buriege, Baton Rouge; and 16 grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Nick and Marie Canezaro Buriege; two brothers, Bennie and Phillip Buriege; and a sister, Angeline Buriege. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd, Jason, Clint,Ryan and Jake Caruso; and nephews, Mario Vaccaro Jr. and Randy Prochaska. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and the Merry Whirlers.
