Arlie B. Childs passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Arlie was born on October 30, 1928 in Henry, Nebraska and graduated from Henry High School. In 1948, Arlie married his sweetheart, Marjorie Williamson. Together they had four children: Arlette of Nampa, Dianne (Dave) of Nampa, Kent (Cheryl) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Joe, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arlie was a devout and faithful Christian and lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. He worked as a dairy farmer until 1956 and worked in radiator repair until his retirement. He and Marj moved to Nampa to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Arlie loved fishing and the outdoors. He and his family often gathered in Yellowstone National Park and along the Boulder River to camp and fish. Arlie always had a story or joke to tell, and always with a twinkle in his eye.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; his son, Joe; and wife, Marj.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 31 at Karcher Church of the Nazarene, 2515 Karcher Rd in Nampa. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations be made to Compassion International, c/o Karcher Church of the Nazarene.
